Do Not Create the Story Before You Have the Facts
A delayed reply does not automatically mean someone is avoiding you.
A canceled plan does not necessarily mean they no longer care.
A change in someone’s behavior may have an explanation that has nothing to do with you.
Give people an opportunity to explain before allowing worry to fill in the missing details.
Not every unexpected change is a warning.
Sometimes it is simply a change.
Family or Personal Responsibilities Could Suddenly Need Attention
Friday may also bring an unexpected request from someone close to you.
A relative, friend, coworker, or another person may need your help with something they did not plan for.
Your instinct may be to immediately step in.
That generosity can be one of Cancer’s strengths.
However, try to understand exactly what is being asked before taking responsibility for the entire problem.
You Can Help Without Carrying Everything
Supporting someone does not necessarily mean solving every part of their situation.
Ask what they actually need.
Perhaps they need advice.
Maybe they need practical help.
Or they may simply need someone to listen while they work out their own solution.
Your support becomes more sustainable when it includes boundaries.
